Cosmetics company L’Oreal is turning its focus on inner beauty, as they make social and environmental changes to the beauty brand’s business plan. Continuing the ‘Sharing Beauty With All’ sustainability commitment scheme introduced in 2013, L’oreals goals include:
“Make beauty sustainable. Make sustainability beautiful.”
- Using sea over air shipping.
- Giving employees across the world exemplary rights and benefits – such as maternity leave provision.
- Employing over 100,000 people from underprivileged communities.
- By 2020 100% of L’oreal products will be sustainable, while carbon emissions and waste and water will be reduced by 60%, with zero waste being sent to landfill.
Travel retail managing director Vincent Boinay promised “Consumers are at the heart of our commitment. Our brands will make information available about products and raise awareness about living sustainably.”
