Ah, the wonders and possibilities of 3D printing! A young boy was fitted with a 3D printed clone trooper arm this week, after tech enthusiast John Peterson discovered a volunteer group called E-nable, who prints arms and hands for kids.
The 7 year-old boy whose name is Liam Porter, was fitted with a RIT model, that specialises in children with an elbow but no forearm. It was a complete surprise, as Peterson turned up to the 3D printing event, with the Star Wars 501st legion to present the prosthetic. For Liam, it was Christmas come all over again, as he smiled down at his new arm, ready to tackle the New Year with unbeatable bionic superpowers!
