Camper Collaborates With EFI For Made in Ethiopia collection

image6Helping to improve worker’s access to employment, knowledge and skills, Camper has collaborated with the Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI), on an artisanal project that will combine the skill of craftsmanship with a signature Camper style. The result is a SS16 remake of the Spanish footwear brand’s Camaleon shoe, made specially from Bati goat leather.

“This mutual exchange has resulted in a limited edition collection produced by Ethiopian artisans that brings a modern twist to traditional African aesthetics.”

Camper-x-EFI-Camaleon-2-1024x564using a design that caters for men and women, each shoe vegetable tanned and given a batik style finish in various colours, “showcasing the richness of african materials and techniques.”

Simone Cipriani, head of The Ethical Fashion Initiative, said in a statement: “Beyond developing the collection and providing work for Ethiopian shoemakers, Camper has provided us with guidance in developing the capacities of the artisans.”
