Emerging designer, Central Saint Martins graduate Camilla Lorentzen, is in the running to becoming a semi-finalist in ELLE’s ‘New Nordic Talent of the Year 2014’ award, in collaboration with Danish label Muuse.
Using recycled materials such as old tents and vintage fabrics, she is the only sustainable fashion talent within the competition, describing the ethos of her label Cadolo, as ‘remaking what you want with what you have.’
Lorentzen’s casual London aesthetic is created using reworked military tents and printed vintage fabrics, which she skillfully crafts into laid back daywear for women and children.
Similar to Christopher Raeburn‘s recycled utilitarian designs, it’s great to see an emerging designer producing durable, practical clothing that combines ethics with contemporary styles.
