Founded in 2001, selvage denim specialists, Nudie Jeans, are the masters of sustainable denim menswear. With an ecocycle philosophy that incorporates the best of British craftsmanship, the urban denim label prides itself on its transparency, minimal waste techniques and socially conscious, stylish aesthetic.
“Your jeans go wherever you go. They live your lifestlye. They get abrasions and scars. And they bleed. Just like you.”
90% of Nudie garments are manufactured within Europe, using 100% organic Fairtrade certified cotton, while their t-shirt suppliers in India (their only Asian suppliers), are guaranteed fair wages and sustainable livelihoods through the Fairwear Foundation.
The company also offers natural, vegetable tanned leather bags and relaxed ready-to-wear, with this season focused primarily on recycled wool, which is used in combination with organic cotton and other fibres.
Spring 2014 includes two tailored fits of skinny and regular, the theme is 19th Century romantic escapism, and this time a stand out statement piece has been added to the mix – a selvage denim tartan kilt for those bold enough to try something different!
