New York fashion tech label Three ASFOUR has taken 3D printing to a whole new level for its AW16 show. Showcasing two 3D printed dresses, the collection titled ‘Biomimicry’ wowed onlookers with the two designs that are inspired by biological forms and textures.
The high tech designs are called Harmonograph and Pangolin, and were unveiled on Monday during New York Fashion Week. They are the result of a collaboration between New York designer Travis Fitch and 3D print manufacturing company Stratasys.
Founders Gabriel Asfour, Angela Donhauser and Adi Gil describe their work as;
“a legacy of fusing cutting-edge technology with traditional craftsmanship to create clothing at the intersection of fashion, sculpture, and mysticism.”
The costume like dresses are their most advanced work to date, and shows how far fashion technology and 3D printing has evolved over the last couple of years.
