Founded last year, The H&M Conscious Foundation has once again put its money where its mouth is, by pledging €20 million to support Unicef Wateraid and Care for the next three years. The Swedish retailer has been working closely with impoverished countries to help improve local’s living conditions by providing clean water, education (led by UNICEF) and opportunities to young women.
The support is divided into three global programs, set to begin this month. By 2017 the major retail store hopes that 73,600 children in poverty will be in pre school education, while 250, 000 school children will have access to clean water and sanitation.
The collaboration with Care will focus on empowering women and enabling them to flourish in all aspects of their lives, by providing financial support and policy changes to strengthen their community. To find out more about H&Ms many sustainability programs click here.
