Today H&M launched their SS15 Conscious Exclusive collection, fronted by actress and humanitarian Olivia Wilde – the new face of the sustainable fashion line.
Visually, the spring/summer collection takes inspiration from African, Asian and Indian cultures, using natural colours, with a mix of feminine silhouettes and more androgynous styles, such as the black organic silk tuxedo.
Each look has been designed using sustainable and environmentally friendly fabrics, from organic linen and silk, to tencel, hemp and recycled wool.
Speaking to women’s fashion magazine WWD, Wilde shared her thoughts on the eco-friendly capsule collection;
“Sustainability has got a bad reputation, especially in fashion. I think people assume the clothes will be dull, the fabrics uncomfortable &the design uninspiring. It’s like people think sustainability is a penance. This couldn’t be further from the truth, & the H&M Conscious Exclusive collection shows that sustainability is no compromise on style”
The collection will be available from March 16th in 200 stores and online.
