With factory worker protests taking place all over Bangladesh this week, we’re glad to see that H&M are making a real effort to help with the current crisis. This year they’ve agreed to take control of two factories, as the sole clients, in order to manage the running of their supply chain themselves.
They will oversee worker’s wages and working conditions, and will ultimately be responsible for making sure sustainability is put in practice. The swedish major retailer has been consistent in enforcing sustainable practices wherever possible, and setting a precedent for other high street brands to follow.
