Sustainable fashion advocate Bruno Pieters has certainly played a major role in revolutionising high fashion through contemporary eco-friendly, innovative design, but this month the Belgian designer has really proved how he and his label Honset By, is one step ahead of the game.
By partnering with spanish based fashion futures advisory, Comme Des Machines, working at the intersection of fashion and technology, Pieters has created a collection of entirely downloadable, 3D printed accessories, called Collection EP01.
Fashion tech has certainly been catapulted to the forefront of design in recent years, but this is the first fashion collection entirely ready for download straight from an online store to your 3D printer at home.
The kitsch collection offers biodegradable design solutions and features four shoe accessories – a back panther, a leaf, a unicorn and a ‘Hey’ speech bubble, an ‘In Comb’ and ‘Out Comb’, ‘Revolution’ bicycle plate, a keychain and a button brooch.
Prices range from €30-70, available for download at HonestBy.com. The website explains all you need to know about 3D printing, such as what filament is best to use, so you can revolutionise and update your wardrobe, hassle free, without even stepping foot outside.
As they say, “The revolution begins with you”. And this is just the beginning…
