In an effort to battle consumer waste, surf clothing brand Quicksilver has launched a line of men’s shorts made entirely from Repreve (recycled polyester yarn).
The AG47 board shorts are designed in collaboration with textile manufacturing company Unifi, and with each pair produced, it’s estimated 11 plastic bottles are saved from landfill.
But if that wasn’t enough to impress, the innovative, eco-friendly shorts are designed with slick laser cut heat-welded panels, stitch free seams and a heat-welded back pocket with waterproof zippers.
“Being made from recycled plastic bottles, Repreve fibers are helping Quiksilver and our consumers make an important contribution to the problem of waste pollution in our oceans.”
