Simone Post Turns Rejected Fabrics Into Interior Products

Simone Post RecycledFor her end of year project, Design Academy Eindhoven graduate Simone Post, wanted to give a new life to leftover fabrics by partnering with dutch textile brand Vlisco.

Vlisco has been producing central and west African inspired prints onto wax fabrics for over 160 years, however its high quality standard means that over 27 mechanical and hand treatments are required, resulting in a large amount of waste materials.

Simone Post ChairsBy working with Vlisco, Simone upcycled their factory leftovers, using folding and laser cutting techniques, to produce a range of eye-catching interior products in vibrant patterned designs. Misprints are wound into circular rugs and stool seat covers, for a bright, bohemian effect, leading her to win the Dutch Design Week graduation show.
