Based in Sweden, The Rag Bag initiative encourages buyers to bring out their socially conscious side, simply by turning their double sided monochrome shopping bags inside out and filling them with unwanted garments. The way it works is that you remove your purchases from their bag, flip it inside out and replace them with an item of clothing you no longer want.
Once that’s done, simply seal it and post it (the address is already printed and postage has been pre-paid). The bag will then arrive at a charity, where the recycling process will continue. Swedish fashion brand Uniforms for the Dedicated are currently testing the project in their stores.
“It’s an easy way to move from talking to acting – through a simple shopping bag”
