As a tribute to the music legend and fashion icon David Bowie, Brooklyn based designer Daniel Silverstein has created the Raglan Bowie sweatshirt, which not only makes a fun statement visually, but is also made from zero waste materials.
“For the city minded environmentalist.”
Using the image of the singer in his Ziggy Stardust days, Silverstein adopts a special tiling technique, where cutting room fabric waste is pieced together to create a collage-like effect. The Bowie sweater is the latest addition to the designer’s ‘ZWD‘ line, where each garment is made using upcycled materials and no item exactly alike. Even the packaging used is zero waste, shipping in mason jars instead of using paper.
Now all we need is to put on our red shoes!
