For multidisciplinary artist Nazrinka Musayeve‘s latest project, she has created a piece of street art in the form of an urban landscape featuring a graffiti sprayed train going off the rails. Look closely, however, and you maybe be able to see that this is no ordinary street art – recycled plastic bags have been used to create the textured effect, while also addressing the issue of consumer waste.
“I embrace street art in my project as it’s close to me & I believe that using this medium helps to decorate old buildings. I used garbage bags of different colors trying to give them a second life & save the environment.”
Polyethene bags are extremely detrimental to the environment, as they are not biodegradable, which makes them hard to dispose of. Rather than see them go to landfill, Nazrinka demonstrates a clever and creative way to make a statement in more ways then one – a perfect example of from trash to treasure!
