Budapest based contemporary jewellery designer, Réka Lőrincz, is no normal jewellery designer. Her kitsch handmade pieces, such as her 2011 ‘The Good, The Bad, and The Flawless‘ cowboy and My Little Pony necklace, are designed to bring out our playful sides, while Lorincz experiments with everyday objects to form a visually unique aesthetic.
As a prominent figure in eastern European jewellery design, Lorincz’s bold statement pieces are not for the shy and retiring. From cut up credit cards to toy soldiers, behind the light and fun visuals, there is a deeper meaning.
Her ‘Flowers of Evil’ credit card collection addresses the issue of habits of mass consumption, while while her Diamond Pills brooch is a take on pill popping culture.
