Sustainable streetwear designer Christopher Raeburn does it again for AW15, as he showcased his expertise in upcycling and the use of sustainable fabrics. From his classic staple parachute silks, to salvaged life raft panelling, inspired by his recent purchase of a life scale orange rubber raft.
The theme was life at sea, featuring jumpers, shoulder bags and gloves with a fun shark motif, while other pieces, such as a dark grey jumpsuit featured floaty bubble prints. Oversized scarves with long, exaggerated fringing completed the look, which was based upon ‘survival and protection’.
As usual the outerwear stole the show, this time featuring structured duffle coats and puffa jackets, often coordinated with matching skirts. Raeburn also experimented with a more demure and experimental look, with capes with mismatched collars and ethnic style rope belts.
