LFW is now in full swing, and flying the flag for sustainable style is Charity Fashion Live, partnering with Love Your Clothes and Recycle for London. Recreating all their favourite SS16 styles from the catwalk, just moments after they appear, the organisation held their own London Fashion Week takeover at Oxfam in Dalston, using only the stock available in store. Stylist and CFL founder Emma Slade Edmonson ensures each outfit is a sartorial success, giving out advice on achieving high fashion looks for less, while photographer Rachel Manns is there to capture it all on camera.
“Fast fashion has created a climate in which people have a throw away relationship with their clothes. With a little creativity, we can all put something really stunning together using second hand threads.”
With over 1.1 million tonnes of clothing discarded by consumers each year, it’s important to be socially conscious when it comes to our wardrobes. Watch the CFL team in action below, and see them prove that second hand needn’t be second best! You can follow all the action on Twitter @CharityFashLive.
